Exploring sites within a couple hours of Las Vegas. Spring Mountain Ranch State Park was beautiful. One of the past owners of the ranch was Howard Hughes. Hughes bought the ranch from German actress Vera Krupp, of the famous Krupp diamond that Elizabeth Taylor owned after Krupp’s death. The last owners were going to turn the ranch into an equestrian community with homes, riding facilities and riding trails. The state of Nevada stepped in and bought it. It would be beautiful for horses with all the springs and reservoir but I am glad it is a state park so everyone can enjoy the beauty. Also Red Rock Conservation area is beautiful. Then headed up into the Spring Mountains and Mt. Charleston to go to Death Valley. It was snowing/sleeting in the mountains. Saw some deer and these burros. Loved the little burro which I want!
