The XIT Museum was very interesting. The XIT was a large ranch in Texas from 1895 to 1917. It employed a lot of cowboys. They drove thousands of longhorns from TX to MT and SD. It definitely is worth stopping to explore.
Then I camped for the night Buffalo Lake National Refuge which is southwest of Amarillo, TX. The lake was totally dry. Hurricane Harvey did not reach this area. Did see a couple of buffalo, so it lived up to that part of its name. It was a cheap place to camp with my National Parks Senior Pass. I think it was $2 per night.
