Since I was camping at Chadron State Park, I found out about the Bioblitz . It took place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30, 2017. I participated in this activity and found it educational and thoroughly enjoyable. By running programs for a continuous 24-hour period, bioblitz participants hope to get an accurate snapshot of the wildlife present in the area at that time of year. One of the sponsors is the Bird Conservatory of the Rockies. Possibly a potential employer for any of you naturalists.
I also recommend downloading the app iNaturalist. You can look up all the species of wildlife found during the 24 hr period at CSP. You can also use this app to document your own wildlife findings.
The Bioblitz will be back at Chadron State Park next fall. If you are in the area, plan on attending this fun and educational event.
